Story: Real Gangsters tells the story of the Lo Giacamo family, one of the most successful crime syndicates in New York City. Run by cousins Vincent Lo Giacamo (Nick Mancuso) and Jack Lo Giacamo (Frank D'Angelo) Real Gangsters shows how these two men maintain control of their dangerous extended family and volatile business ventures by very different means. Vincent is the politician, the man who always has a plan to help keep the peace, find common ground, bind blood and commerce and grow the family into a billion dollar empire. Jack is the muscle, the hot head, ruthless and uncompromising he lives in the moment and executes his actions based on how he feels. Unfortunately for these two men, these two philosophies don't always work together. Jack enforces his code of duty and honor with a brutal finality that sometimes destroys Vincent's creative scheming. I admit that this review may not be fair-- I only stayed for 10 minutesof the film. Those 10 minutes were hilarious-- hilariously bad. Butthere's only so much cringing that one can do before your head explodeswith the thought: why, why, why make such a bad movie? First-- thedialogue consists mainly of the words f*ck, f*cking, andmother-f*cking. Used judiciously, these words have some power, butafter a while, you just longed for someone to say something that hadsome meaning. The exposition was worse than clunky. The characters werecartoonish and just speaking their thought bubbles-- no subtlety atall.

And most embarrassing of all, this film was screened at an Italian filmfestival in Toronto, meant to celebrate the best of contemporaryItalian film. Is this really all there is on offer? Is this how we wantto depict Italian culture? Is there anything redeeming to this film atall? Someone please enlighten me.

As this was a Canadian/Italian film, I was very excited about it. Inwatching the movie trailer, it seemed to have potential. Itunfortunately fell way short of mark. The two main characters were notbelievable as brothers and they had zero chemistry together. Theattempted humour sprinkled throughout the movie was too childish for aserious drama. A true plot was nowhere to be found. I did enjoy seeingMargot Kidder though, seeing as I thought she was ill and had longretired from acting. Anyhow, her appearance was very brief and didn'tmake up for the other failures. Although noted by others, I truly didnot notice any standing ovation once the credits rolled. Also, I wassurprised to see a uniformed policeman in the audience.....so weird!!!In conclusion, this was a very poor, made-for-TV movie at best. Do notwaste your time seeing it should it ever come into the mainstream...although I highly doubt it ever will. Thanks.

This film seems to have been created mainly as a self-serving,attention getting vehicle for a curious fellow by the name of FrankD'Angelo. He has taken every offensive, insulting and hackneyedstereo-type of the Italian-American gangster and somehow made themworse.

As writer, director and producer of this film Mr. D'Angelo has selfindulgently inserted himself into the film as lead actor and in doingso has made every aspect of this production a sad joke with himself asthe punchline.

This cinematic train wreck is chock full of "D" list actors makingtheir last fatal gasp in film making. Margot Kidder, Robert Logia andJohn Savage must of been paid big bucks to hammer the final nail intheir film career coffins and can do nothing to salvage the distastefuland talent less performance by "Frankie D."

To sum up this film in three words; horrible, horrific and horrendous.
